CIPN with EC chemotherapy and Paclitaxel

I was diagnosed with invasive ductal BC HER2 + ER+ in Aug 23. i developed CIPN after 2 doses of EC, despite lots of breaks in treatment to allow PN to settle it became so bad in my hands and feet that walking and balance was difficult. i was advised to stop chemo half way through my allotted course of treatment . It was a tough decision. I still have PN in my hands and feet which was exacerbated recently by antibiotics for a step B infection and by the Covid jab. No one was able to advise me on how to protect myself during treatment . I would have welcomed the opportunity to use Hilotherm.

Game changer to avoid post chemo neuropathy

I was offered cooling therapy along with my chemotherapy at Royal Marsden and it was truly a game changer in terms of tackling the neuropathy post chemo. I started my chemo cycle (8 cycles of Capox - Drip+ Oral drug) without cooling therapy and suffered strong neuropathy in my feet and hands during and after my chemo cycles. I was diagnosed with myeloma in late 2018 and began first line chemotherapy in January 2019. I was warned that CIPN was a potential side effect of the use of Velcade and I was asked about any PN effects on the basis of a questionnaire.
