Who do we want to get involved in this research

We would like to hear from patients or members of the public who are interested in this study, regardless of experience.

We would particularly like to hear from patients with cancer who have had ablation procedures, or cancer that has spread to the liver in although this is not a prerequisite.

Anyone who is interested in medical technology, has good communication skills and is keen to learn would be suitable.

Please let us know if you can speak Arabic.

    What is our research question?

Long term, we would like to conduct a full study which compares one, or a combination of these new approaches.

However, we first need to answer some questions in a ‘feasibility study’ including:

    • Is a full trial likely to succeed i.e., how many patients might take part, how long will it take, and how many patients will we need?
    • Which of these new approaches demonstrates more promise?
    • How much does each treatment cost?

What do patients think of the treatments and how could they be best delivered in the NHS?

What does patient and public involvement look like in this research?

Review of patient facing materials - posters, website, videos, consent form, information sheet

Patient representatives being part of the trial management group

Patient representatives being part of the trial steering committee

    Interpreting research results

    Dissemination and communication of results

    A chance to co-author a research paper

Are there any groups you want to hear from?

We are looking to hear from arabic patients in particular because about one in four of the patients we treat at Chelsea are arabic.
